How It Runs

How AdsTalent Runs Amazon Ads

1

Account and listing review

week one

Before campaign structure, we look at what the advertising will be pointing at: title, images, bullets, backend keywords, review count and rating, and current conversion rate by listing.

What this includes +

Where the listing is the problem, we say so first. We also establish the current advertising cost of sale so there is a real baseline rather than a feeling.

2

Keyword research

week one

Research across what customers actually search on Amazon, which differs from Google in vocabulary and in intent.

What this includes +

Terms are separated into those that convert, those that browse, and those that should be excluded outright. Competitor product targeting identified where it makes sense.

3

Campaign structure

weeks one and two

Campaigns built to separate discovery from harvesting: automatic and broad campaigns to find terms, exact-match campaigns to hold the ones that convert, and negatives applied so the two do not compete for the same clicks.

What this includes +

Product targeting where competitor listings are worth appearing on. Structure exists so that budget can be moved deliberately rather than guessed at.

4

Bid optimization and testing

ongoing

Bids managed against advertising cost of sale per term rather than per campaign. Search term reports mined continuously, with converting terms promoted to exact match and wasteful ones negated.

What this includes +

A/B testing of ad copy where the format allows. Conversion tracking maintained so the numbers stay trustworthy.

Amazon Ads

Amazon advertising reaches a shopper at the point of purchase rather than the point of research. That single difference makes it a different discipline from Google Ads, even though the mechanics look similar and the interface encourages you to treat them the same.

On Google, the click starts a journey. On Amazon, the click is most of the journey.

What Amazon Advertising Actually Is

Sponsored Products place your listing in the search results and on product pages, bid on keywords and products, and charge per click. Underneath, Amazon is running an auction weighted heavily by relevance and conversion rate, not just by bid.

That weighting is the thing most sellers miss. On Amazon, advertising and organic rank feed each other in a tighter loop than anywhere else. Ad-driven sales lift your organic rank, because sales velocity is a ranking input. Better organic rank reduces what you need to spend to hold visibility. Run well, spend goes down over time on your core terms. Run badly, you rent visibility forever.

The other structural difference is that the listing does the selling. Google traffic lands on a page you control and can rewrite. Amazon traffic lands on a listing constrained by Amazon's format, where the title, images, bullets, and reviews do the work. Advertising a weak listing is the fastest way to lose money on Amazon, because you pay for clicks that were never going to convert and you damage the conversion rate that the auction rewards.

Who Amazon Advertising Suits

A seller with a live catalog and listings that already convert reasonably. If the listing converts, advertising amplifies it. If it does not, advertising exposes it.

A seller who is spending already, without structure. The most common situation we see is one automatic campaign running everything, no negative keywords, and no separation between terms that convert and terms that browse.

A seller competing in a category where the first page is the whole game, which is most of them.

A seller launching a product, where advertising is the only way to generate the early sales velocity that organic rank depends on.

It suits you least if your margins cannot absorb the advertising cost of sale in your category, and that is worth calculating before spending rather than after. We would rather tell you the numbers do not work than manage a campaign that quietly loses money.

What Results Look Like

  • Advertising cost of sale reported per campaign and per term, not one blended number
  • A growing negative keyword list, which is where most of the savings come from
  • Converting search terms promoted into their own exact-match campaigns with controlled bids
  • Organic rank improvement on core terms as ad-driven velocity accumulates
  • A clear picture of which products deserve spend and which do not

Amazon Ads FAQ

Q: What does Amazon ads management cost?

$372.50 a month. That is the management fee. Your ad spend is separate and paid directly to Amazon.

Q: Do you fix my listings too?

Listing review is part of the setup, and we will tell you plainly what is holding conversion back. Rewriting listings and producing images is not included in this fee; content and design items are available in a la carte.

Q: What is a good advertising cost of sale?

It depends entirely on your margin and whether you are launching or defending. There is no universal number, and anyone quoting one without asking about your margins is not paying attention.

Q: Can you help with Sponsored Brands and Sponsored Display too?

This plan covers Sponsored Products, which is where most sellers should start and where most of the return sits. If your catalog and brand registry justify the other formats, tell us on the intake call and we will scope it.

Q: How does this interact with my Google Ads?

They serve different stages. Google captures research and comparison; Amazon captures purchase. Sellers who run both usually find Amazon carries a lower cost of sale and Google carries more incremental new demand.

Q: Is there a contract?

Month to month after the first ninety days, which is the minimum for one full harvesting cycle to show what the account can do.

Timeline

What Happens When

  1. Day one to day fourteen

Listing and account review, baseline cost of sale established, keyword research completed, campaign structure built and live. Where the listing needs work before it deserves traffic, you hear that in week one.

  2. Day fifteen to day forty-five

First harvesting cycle. Search term reports produce the first real negative list and the first converting terms move into exact match. Cost of sale usually improves noticeably here simply from cutting waste.

  3. Day forty-five to day ninety

Structure settles. Bids are managed against per-term performance rather than campaign averages. Early organic rank movement appears on terms where ad-driven sales have accumulated.

  4. Month four onward

Ongoing harvesting, bid management, and copy testing. Attention shifts toward the interaction between paid and organic rank, and toward which products in the catalog justify further spend.
