How It Runs

How AdsTalent Runs Google Business Profile Setup

1

Audit and claim

week one

We find every listing associated with your business, which frequently means more than one.

What this includes +

Duplicates from an old address, an auto-generated listing nobody claimed, a franchise listing pointing somewhere else. We establish which is the canonical profile, claim or request access to it, and identify duplicates for removal. We check the current state against Google's guidelines as they stand now rather than as they stood when the profile was made.

2

Category and services

week one

We research which categories the businesses currently ranking in your target searches actually use, because that is evidence rather than guesswork.

What this includes +

We set the primary category to the one that matches your highest-value work, add relevant secondary categories, and write out the service list with descriptions that use the language customers use rather than internal terminology.

3

Configuration

weeks one and two

Service area or address, hours including holiday hours, attributes that apply, and the business description.

What this includes +

Photos matter more than most owners expect and are usually the weakest part of an existing profile, so we get real photos in place rather than stock. Where products apply, we set them up. Where booking or messaging fits the business, we enable and test it.

4

Verification and handover

We take the profile through verification, which has become slower and more variable than it used to be, and we manage that process rather than handing you a task. You get access as owner.

What this includes +

We hand over a written record of what was set and why, so the next person to touch it is not guessing.

Google Business Profile

For a local business, the Google Business Profile is the single highest-leverage asset in search, and it is the one most often left half-finished. It decides whether you appear in the Maps pack, what a customer sees before they ever reach your website, and increasingly what an AI assistant says about you.

Most profiles we look at were created years ago, by someone who is no longer there, using a category that was close enough at the time.

What Google Business Profile Optimization Actually Is

It is the work of configuring the profile so Google understands exactly what your business does, where it does it, and why it should be shown for a given search.

The category is the biggest single lever, and it is the one most commonly wrong. Your primary category determines which searches you are eligible to appear for at all. A dentist listed under "Dentist" and a dentist listed under "Cosmetic Dentist" compete for different searches, and one of those choices may be leaving your highest-value work invisible. Secondary categories widen eligibility without diluting the primary signal, and most profiles use none of them.

After category, the profile is a structured description of your business that Google reads literally: services and their descriptions, service area or storefront address, hours including special hours, attributes, products, photos, and the ongoing signals of posts, questions, and reviews. Each field is a chance to state something true and specific, and a blank field states nothing.

What it is not: it is not a one-time form fill that stays done. Google changes guidelines, competitors suggest edits to your listing, and profiles get suspended for reasons that are not always obvious. Setup is a project. Keeping it right is a program.

Who Needs Google Business Profile Optimization

A business that has never claimed its profile, which is more common than you would expect, because Google creates listings automatically from other data and they sit there unclaimed and half-wrong.

A business whose profile was created by a previous agency, a franchise head office, or an employee who has left, and which nobody has audited since.

A business that has moved, changed its phone number, changed its name, or added a service line. Each of those creates a mismatch between the profile and reality, and mismatches suppress ranking.

A business that shows up for its own name but not for what it sells. That is almost always a category and services problem rather than a website problem.

This is a one-time setup service. If you want the ongoing work of posts, review generation, monitoring, and defending the listing against edits and suspensions, that lives in the Local SEO plans rather than here.

What Results Look Like

  • A single canonical profile, claimed and owned by you, with duplicates removed
  • Category selection based on what actually ranks in your market rather than what sounds right
  • Every field that Google reads populated with something true and specific
  • Eligibility to appear for searches you were previously invisible for
  • A written record of the configuration, so future changes are deliberate

Google Business Profile FAQ

Q: What does Google Business Profile optimization cost?

$125, one time. It is a project fee rather than a retainer, and the price is published here so you can tell whether it fits before you get on a call.

Q: Is this a subscription?

No. This is a one-time setup. Ongoing profile work, posts, review generation, and suspension monitoring are part of the Local SEO plans.

Q: What if my profile is suspended?

Suspensions have specific causes, and reinstatement depends on which one applies. We will tell you on the intake call whether the situation looks recoverable and what it would take, rather than selling you a setup on a profile that needs a reinstatement case first.

Q: I have several locations. Does this cover them?

This covers one profile. Multi-location businesses need a different approach, including how locations relate to each other and whether a service area or storefront model fits, and we would scope that separately.

Q: Will this get me into the Maps pack?

It makes you eligible and fixes what is holding you back. Ranking in a competitive pack also depends on reviews, proximity to the searcher, and ongoing activity. Anyone promising top-three placement from a setup alone is not describing how the pack works.

Q: Do I keep ownership?

Yes. You are the owner of the profile. We work as a manager on it, and you can remove that access at any time.

Timeline

What Happens When

  1. Week one

Listing audit, duplicate identification, claim submitted or access requested. Category research against the businesses currently ranking for your target terms. Draft configuration reviewed with you before anything goes live.

  2. Week two

Full configuration applied: categories, services, service area, hours, attributes, description, photos, and products where they apply. Verification submitted.

  3. Week three onward

Verification completed, which depends on Google rather than on us and occasionally requires a second attempt. Duplicate removals processed. Owner access confirmed to you, and the written configuration record handed over.
